Leica M9 Titanium

The M9 series claims to be the first digital camera to offer a full-frame CCD sensor capable of perfectly capturing the old 35mm format, but the M9 Titanium isn't about that. It's not even about the fact it was designed by Walter de'Silva, better known for his automobile designs. No, it's all about the fact this camera is made from titanium. This is why only 500 have been made, and why you'll be asked to pay £19,200 for the privilege of owning one.

iPhone 4 Diamond Rose

iPhone 4 Diamond Rose (Stuart Hughes)
Apple's iPhone is rich pickings for the bling industry, but this tops the lot as the world's most expensive, courtesy of Stuart Hughes.

The cool £5m tag is down to the precious metals used in its construction: rose gold, and over 500 flawless diamonds, 53 of which make up the Apple logo on the back. Even the main navigation controls oozes expense: constructed from platinum with a single pink rose diamond in the middle. Only two will be made, but the upside? All that genuine bling means it won't depreciate in value any time soon.

Platinum MacBook Air

Apple users are used to paying a premium for their products, so what's £5,495 between friends, particularly when it means your MacBook Air is polished to perfection by Gold Striker and then fully embellished in your choice of finish: Platinum, 24-carat gold or 18-carat rose gold? It's one way to make you stand out from all those other common-as-muck MacBook Air users, definitely.

Vertu Constellation Quest

Vertu Constellation Quest (Vertu)
Vertu represents the ultimate in British craftsmanship and engineering. Sure, the phone is constructed from precious metals and stones, but it's for build quality purposes more than show. Each phone is lovingly hand built by a single individual at the company's Hampshire base, and they're responsible for resolving any problems that might occur.

The phone also comes with tailored services, including 140 in-depth and regularly updated city guides and a concierge service (which includes an initial "fitting" of the phone to your exact requirements). Prices start from a trifling £5,000 for the 'basic' model, but you can pay £17,200 for a gold finish if you prefer.

Leica M9 Factory Build Recorded and Shared with Us

When it comes to digital cameras some of the best, coolest looking, and most expensive hail from the Leica brand. The company makes some really nice products, but when basic versions of the M9 cost in the $7,000 range and special editions cost in the area of $17,000 few of us will ever afford one of our own.

I do like to see how things are made though and if you are interested in the M9 and how it is built these two videos will be right up your alley. A couple things that struck me about the factory are that they take the time to wear hair and shoe coverings, and then don’t bother with gloves.
I would think gloves would be required in a clean room like this. I was also surprised at how slowly the cameras are built. Perhaps she was going slowly because she knew the person was filming her. Check out the videos below to see the build process.

A Work Around For The iPhone New Year Alarm Glitch

Apple’s iPhone alarm clock showed some strange new year traits and failed to wake users on New Year’s Day and January 2 due to a bug Apple still hasn’t fully explained.
Apple did make a statement yesterday saying that the failure of its clock app only happens when you set a one-time alarm, and it will somehow fix itself on January 3. However the problem still seems to exist.

If your not so sure you want to risk being late again here’s how to work around the problem until Apple delivers a fix.
1. Open the clock app.
2. Tap Edit. You’ll see a red minus sign appear next to each of your saved alarms. Tap the symbol to delete each one.
3. Create a new alarm each day. Don’t risk saving it again for the next day until there’s a fix from Apple.
As an alternative to using your iPhone allarm clock, there is a Nightstand Central app available for the iPhone, that hasn’t been affected by the glitch, you can

HSTi Wi-Fi Streaming Media Stick Designed For Android Devices

HSTi has created a Wireless Media Stick specifically for Android mobile devices that it will be showcasing at CES 2011 this week. The new Wireless Media Stick allows you to stream your stored movies, music and photos from any Android-powered smartphone or tablet.
HSTi Wi-Fi Streaming Media Stick

Once it has been attached to a wireless router, or your Smart Phone’s or Tablet’s built in Wi-Fi Access Point, the Wireless Media Stick basically acts as a wireless bridge between the USB playback ports on your media player, game consoles or set top boxes and streams the shared files from the desired Android Phone or Tablet directly to view on your large screen TV via the stick.
The media player with Wireless Media Stick attached reads the file as if it was stored inside the Wireless Media Stick, but the file resides in the Android device.
